Springville Power Substation Heat Pump
Industrial-grade commercial heat pump installation at Springville Power substation, providing year-round climate control for critical electrical infrastructure.
The Challenge
Power substations house sensitive electrical equipment that requires precise temperature and humidity control to prevent equipment failure. The facility needed an all-weather solution capable of operating reliably in Utah's extreme temperatures, from -10°F winters to 100°F+ summers.
Our Solution
We installed a commercial heat pump system engineered for extreme conditions, with low-ambient heating capability and high-efficiency cooling. The system includes redundant components and automatic failover to ensure continuous operation even during component maintenance.
Scope of Work
Site assessment and load calculations for electrical facility requirements, commercial heat pump selection and procurement, equipment installation with vibration isolation, refrigerant piping and electrical connections, controls integration with facility monitoring systems, and commissioning with performance verification.
Results & Outcomes
The heat pump system has maintained precise temperature control through two full seasonal cycles with zero unplanned downtime. Energy costs are 25% lower than the previous resistance heating system. Facility managers report the equipment operates seamlessly with existing monitoring infrastructure.
